What to expect
Having photos taken is not everyone's favorite past time and I get that. My husband could give you a millions stories about how I've forced him to pose for me.
During our time together, I promise to make it as enjoyable as possible. I am laid back and want you to feel comfortable with me. I like to get to know you and your family and will gladly play with your kids during our shoot. I genuinely enjoy meeting people! I have two little ones myself; therefore patience is my middle name. We will have fun during our shoot and hopefully get to know each other a little better!
My favorite style of photography is lifestyle. Now, you might be asking yourself what is that exactly? Lifestyle photography by definition "aims to capture to capture portraits/people on situations, real-life events or milestones in an artistic manner and the art of everyday. The primary goal is to tell stories about people's life or to inspire."
I know from my personal experience that the thought of family photos is oh so overwhelming, especially with small children. I don't want you to be stressed. We will work together to make this a positive experience for you and your family! On the day of photos try to keep your normal routine and nap schedule. When we meet, I always try my best to connect with the little ones first and make them feel comfortable with me. Think of the first ten minutes of our shoot as a warmup. Then we have fun!
My newborn sessions are not the typical prop filled sessions. I do a lifestyle shoot that will take place in your house and utilize the nursery and other rooms in your home. I do have a few baskets and blankets that I will bring with me, but I really like to use what you have to really bring a personal touch to the session.
I like to do these in month 7 or 8 of pregnancy so that you have a nice round bump, but are still feeling pretty good. These will be done in your home or on location. Family members are welcome to jump in for a few shots as well.
I love shooting seniors! You are in such a fun but trivial part of life. I like to make these personal as well by really showing off your personality through hobbies or interests and locations. I love fashion and styling. We can work together on making these some of your favorite portraits you'll ever take! (Besides your wedding of course)
These need to be taken at least a month before your wedding. I recommend getting them done as soon as possible, especially if you need them for showers or save the dates. I love capturing love! Getting married is such an exciting and special time that must be documented! You will love looking back on these memories. During our session together, you will be kissing quite a bit so don't forget a breathe mint! If you have questions about styling/ideas, please don't hesitate to ask. I want you to really love your photos and have no regrets!
Every wedding experience is unique for both you and me. We will meet and get to know each other and discuss the details at time of booking. I will have more information to give you then. Weddings are my absolute favorite to document and I love making your experience memorable by accommodating your every need as best to my ability. I consider myself an artist and strive to use my best creative juices to curate your photos.
I want your photos to reflect your style and personality as an individual, couple or family. I often have people asking me with help with styling. I wish I could go shopping with or come to everyone's house to help choose outfits. I will definitely help you by giving tips? Pinterest is a great place to get inspiration or ideas. Choosing a coordinating color palette is a great start and then build everyone's outfits from there. Make sure you all stick to the same style such as trendy casual, minimal, dressy, or over the top. Choosing a pattern to build around is also helpful. This allows you to keep it matching color wise, but not clashing.
